Peacocking at Packaging Innovations

Last week saw the herculean efforts of easyFairs and packaging professionals across the country come to fruition in the form of Packaging Innovations London 2014. Across the board, print and packaging companies brought their A-game to showcase incredible and innovative products, and here at Pipi we decided to get in on that action. Working in conjunction with Elliswood Brewery, local beer geniuses who recently opened the first brewery in the Hinckley area for 100 years, we produced the Funky Pale Ale. Brewed and bottled by Elliswood, the label was produced using traditional letterpress technology, and the lettering was texturised following some pretty tricky experimentation with tactile varnish finishes. All the artwork was created by our in-house design and repro team so – as with all the cartons, leaflets, and labels we produce – everything was manufactured from the same site.

Apparently all those late nights in the studio and tinkering with the presses paid off, because by the end of the second day all of the 100 bottles had been given out to people who stopped by for a chat about the techniques we used. The whole project brought together two of the finest things in life – good, local, craft beer and creative packaging solutions – so watch this space for more exciting brew news, but if you can’t wait we’re always on hand to field questions on 0116 2669242.
